Rovers’ late winner keeps promotion hopes alive

For ninety minutes this looked like the afternoon promotion slipped away. Then Okafor rose above two defenders to meet Halloran’s corner and Marram Park made a noise it has not made since April.

Rovers had dominated possession without troubling the keeper. Two changes at the hour brought width, and it was the width that produced the corner.

The win lifts Rovers to third, two points off the automatic places with a game in hand. The manager was careful afterwards: “We were poor for an hour. The result hides that. Tuesday will not.”
